The Drywall is Ready to Go Up...

They have all of our drywall in each room ready to be put up as well. This picture is in Deidra's room. :-)

Insulation -- 8-22-07

They came in and put in all of our insulation yesterday.

Foam Insulation -- 8-21-07

They came in at used spray foam to seal all the holes and whatnot so that we couldn't see any daylight and no bugs, water, or anything could get in.

The bricks have been delivered -- 8-21-07

The bricks are all ready to go. They'll look a bit different once they're on the house and have been powerwashed to get all the dirt off of them.

I can't wait to see my house!!

We went by last night and saw that the insulation was in and the inspection was passed. I have pictures...just need to post them. Then, I got the call from the builder today saying that half of our brick was up and should be done later today. I can't wait to see it!!

Boys Room--Which one do you like better?

I'll put pics of the comforters up to give you a sampling...you can see the full collection with the accessories in the links below.

Which one do you like better? I really like both of these for doing the boy's room in. At first, I saw the Bear one and really liked the set. It comes with a cute red lantern light too although that's not shown in the accessories. Then, a couple weeks ago, I saw the road collection and thought that was adorable too. It comes with a traffic light for the room lamps. You can't see that in the accessories either. Now, I'm torn on which one to do the room in...votes anyone?

If you hit the view collection button, it will show you the complete collection. I'd do the bear quilt for the comforter...

What one do you vote for?

We met with the builder today!

He's so nice and he recognized me from Home Depot. He looked familiar to me too, so I'm sure that's where I've seen him. We walked the house and he pointed things out to us and things that needed to be fixed and told us the following plan. The house is going through several inspection stages now. Insulation will go in in the next day or two and then that will get inspected. Once that happens, they will start drywalling and he's thinking that will happen on Wednesday or Thursday. They should also be putting our brick up later this week. We spent about an hour going through everything, we found out that our security system had been left off the floor plan (where we wanted it), so we specified a location and they'll take care of that for us. It was kinda fun. He said once they install the carpet in the next couple of weeks, it will be 21 calendar days until we close. Wow! I so cannot wait...however we need to start packing again! Not looking forward to the actual moving process again, but since we live so close...we won't have to move everything all at once if we don't want to. I cannot wait to have more space and be in our new house. We are all so excited about it. Just wanted to share about how the meeting went...

We're wired! -- 8-13-07 and 8-14-07

They came out and did all of our electrical stuff on the first floor on the 13th and they did the 2nd floor on 8-14-07. We won't have a shortage of electrical outlets that is for sure. Every 4 ft there is an outlet. We had a couple extra put in in some spots too...there were certain places that we wanted phone jacks and cable stuff and that sort of thing. But, we're wired and ready to go!

We now have our fireplace! -- 8-10-07

They installed our fireplace. Woo hoo! I so cannot wait to cuddle up on the couch on a winter day with a book in front of our very own fireplace. I am so excited to get to decorate our mantel with pictures and stockings and garland during Christmas. I am just too excited about finally having our very own fireplace! YEAH!

The stairs -- 8-3-07

A view of the stairs...

Looking into the living room -- 8-3-07

Here's looking into the living room. Our fireplace if you look carefully will be in the back right corner. I so cannot wait to use it! Yes, I realize they have to install it first...I'm really trying to be patient.

Looking into the kitchen -- 8-3-07

Here's looking into the kitchen. I so can't wait to have a big kitchen to cook in again. And I think I'm even more excited about having a big pantry to actually see what we have in, rather than having to dig into our current shoebox of a pantry and take everything in and out to find what I'm looking for.

All in Thermo-Ply 8-3-07

Here's the house in all of it's thermo-ply.

Siding and Thermo-Ply -- 8-2-07

Here's our house on August 2, 2007. They put the siding up on the back of the house and the top of each side. The front and the bottom of the sides will be brick. It is so exciting to see it all come together so fast.

the 2nd floor framing...

This is the picture that we took last night. I can't believe how far they've gotten already and they were still working on it when we got there around 7:30 pm. They were there really early that morning too. Wow...I can't wait to see what it looks like tonight.
